FAQ SHEET

Activities

Our qualified staff and cabin leaders will encourage you and ensure your camper’s safety. There are over a dozen activities to participate in at Moorecroft Camp. Please note that for the safety of our guests, all campers must participate in a swim test at the beginning of each week. Campers who do not pass the swim test will have to wear a lifejacket while swimming.

Cabin mate Requests

We will seek to honour cab inmate requests: campers must be eligible to be in the same camp, within the age group specified for each camp week. Both campers must make the cab inmate request. Note that this is optional and that many campers do not make requests. We seek to honour your requests. Please contact the camp if you have any questions.

Food Service

One of the most important parts of camp, we provide quality food and plenty of it! Healthy and delicious home-style meals are prepared daily and usually served family style. Campers eat either in our dinning hall or outdoors weather permitting. Vegetarian options are provided when noted on your camper’s medical form, we also attempt to meet special needs.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of all our guests is of utmost importance. On-site health care staff includes one First Aid Attendant 24-hour on-call working from our Nurses Hut. In addition, a full-service hospital is located within 20 minutes of Moorecroft Camp in Nanaimo. National Lifeguard Service (N.L.S.) certified lifeguards provide a safe environment for all Moorecroft waterfront activities.
